buildOn, in the CPS since 2005, is a national program to encourage students to develop community and leadership skills through numerous service-learning opportunities. Senn is proud to be one of Chicago's flagship buildOn schools.

In 2005 schools were built in Nicaragua and Mali. In 2007 and 2008 representatives from Senn’s club traveled to Mali with other buildOn students and sponsors. In 2009 Senn sent two club participants to Malawi. On trek, club members learned about the local culture and worked with villagers constructing their school building.

Throughout the year, Senn students also participate in global-cultural education activities and arrange local service projects to serve the Chicago community.
