When students are absent from school, parents and guardians should call the attendance office to explain why their child was absent.
Based on state and district guidelines, certain absences can be marked as excused, including student illness. Parents/guardians can communicate the reason for a student's absence by submitting a signed note or by calling the attendance office at 773-534-2652. Please save this number in your phone for easy access. Please be prepared to provide the following information:
- The date of the absence
- The student's full name
- Your name and your relationship to the student
- Your call back number
- Reason for absence
