Senn Arts Admissions Information

STEP 1: ABOUT THE APPLICATION

We have four Senn Arts disciplines at Senn High School – Dance, Music, Theatre & Visual Art. Each discipline must be applied to individually. You may apply to as many Senn Arts disciplines as you are interested in. To learn more about each Arts disciplines visit the Senn Arts website.

Admission to all programs at Senn High School is governed by the GoCPS application process (www.go.cps.edu). All students must apply for Senn Arts through the GoCPS application portal. Applications for the 2026-27 school year are open from September 9, 2026 through November 13, 2026. Please visit go.cps.edu for more information and to access a link to the application. Only complete applications will be considered. A complete application includes both the CPS application, CPS-received final 7th grade grades, and the CPS High School Admissions Test.

CPS Students: Your grades and HS Admissions Test score will be automatically uploaded through the go.cps.edu website.

Non-CPS Students: You must receive an activation code through CPS in order to apply. Please visit go.cps.edu or contact the CPS Office of Access and Enrollment by phone, 773-553-2060, or email, [email protected] as soon as possible. You will have to take the HS Admissions Test on one of the dates provided for non-CPS students. All testing and application documents must be submitted by the application deadline.

STEP 2: COMPLETE THE APPLICATION, INCLUDING SCHEDULING AN AUDITION

There are multiple stages of the online application in GoCPS. The first of those stages are about personal information. *Note: if you are a CPS students, some of the information may be pre-entered, including Student Grades. Senn Arts is part of the second option, Choice High School Programs Application. You will be asked to rank the programs you apply to in order of preference. Rank will play a very important role in your school program placement. To maximize your chances of being matched to us, be sure to rank Senn Arts as #1 on your choice list.

Once you have decided on all programs to which you are applying, ranked them, and scheduled auditions, you must complete the final 2 stages - ‘Signature’ and ‘Review and Send’.

Please follow these directions to submit the application:

Select Choice High School Programs 2025-26 Application.
Click Start.
Click Browse + Add Programs to Application.
Select the Senn Arts Program you're interested in and Click Add.
Select Location (Senn) then Select Date and Time for Audition and click Next.
Click Schedule Audition.
Return to the Choice High School Programs
Rank your selections
SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION.

STEP 3: AUDITION

Senn Arts DANCE, THEATRE & VISUAL ART are AUDITION BASED. You MUST complete an audition/portfolio review in order to be considered for a seat in those Senn Arts disciplines.

There are TWO ways for students to audition for Senn Arts:

1) Schedule an In-Person Audition for one of three dates through GoCPS.

This is the preferred option.

November 4th 4th from 4:00-6:30p

November 7th from 9:30a-12:30p

November 14th from 9:30a-12:30p

2) Submit a Digital Audition Submission instead of attending In-Person.

VISUAL ARTS applicants MUST submit a Visual Art Portfolio using this FORM
THEATRE & DANCE Applicants MUST complete this FORM to submit your audition materials.

Digital Submission deadline- December 14, 2026.

Senn Arts MUSIC is an INTEREST BASED program. Students are selected by a lottery system - there are no auditions.

STEP 4: SELECTION

Students are considered for Senn Arts programs based on a combination of audition score, grades, the High School Admissions Test, and the order in which the student ranked the program on their application.
