HOW DO I APPLY TO SENN ARTS?

Senn Arts is an audition-based Fine & Performing Arts Magnet Program where creative Chicago students pursue artistic and academic excellence. Senn Arts provides students with an environment that fosters academic, social, and personal growth to cultivate artistic members of the global community.

Admission to all programs at Senn High School is governed by the GoCPS application process. All students must apply for Senn Arts through the GoCPS application portal. Applications for the 2026-2027 school year open on September 23, 2025.

Audition Requirements

Senn Arts DANCE, THEATRE & VISUAL ART are AUDITION BASED. Music does not require an audition. You MUST complete an audition/portfolio review in to be considered for a seat in those Senn Arts disciplines.

There are TWO ways for students to audition for Senn Arts:

1) Schedule an In-Person Audition for one of three dates through GoCPS.

This is the preferred option.

November 5th 4th from 4:00-6:30p

November 8th from 9:30a-12:30p

November 15th from 9:30a-12:30p

2) Submit a Digital Audition Submission instead of attending In-Person.

VISUAL ARTS applicants MUST submit a Visual Art Portfolio using this FORM
THEATRE and DANCE Applicants MUST complete this FORM to submit your audition materials.

Selection

Students are considered for Senn Arts programs based on their audtion scores for Visual Arts, Theater and Dance and by lottery for Music.

September 23, 2025 - GoCPS Application Opens

November 5th from 4:00-6:30pm Senn Arts Audition Day

November 8th from 9:30am-12:30pm Senn Arts Audition Day

November 15th from 9:30am-12:30pm Senn Arts Audition Day

November 14, 2025 - GoCPS Application Closes at 5 pm
